At our YOLO Charters base in Preveza, that is the part of the journey we want to make more personal. A welcoming space ashore, a team to talk to and our van, BuBu, are all part of how we help our customers get their holiday underway. Here is a look inside, using photographs from our own collection.
A proper welcome, before you step aboard
Our base is not just a name on a booking confirmation. Behind the YOLO sign is a bright space with places to sit, a table to gather around and room to talk through the day ahead. Warm colours, plants and a few playful details make it feel more like the beginning of a holiday than another travel appointment.
It is a setting for the small conversations that make a difference. Who is arriving later? Which questions does the skipper still have? What should you prepare before heading to the boat? A little clarity ashore helps everyone approach the handover with the same plan.
For your arrival, use the meeting point sent by our team for your particular booking. The office and the yacht’s berth are different places, and the right first stop depends on the arrangements for your crew. If you are unsure, send us your arrival details before travelling and we will confirm where to meet.
Space to settle into holiday mode
Travel days rarely run to one perfect timetable. Some guests arrive together, others join later; someone has the documents ready, someone else wants to ask about the boat. Our photographs show the different corners of the base, from the lounge seating to the shared table and kitchenette area.
The idea is simple: a real place to meet the people behind your charter. You can put faces to names, talk through practical questions and start thinking about the week ahead. If your group needs a particular arrangement before embarkation, let us know in advance so we can explain what is available on your arrival day.
Planning an early flight does not automatically mean early access to the yacht. Boats need their turnaround and preparation time. Build your first day around your confirmed handover appointment, with enough breathing space for your crew to arrive and get organised.
Meet BuBu, our YOLO van
You may also meet another member of the YOLO welcome: BuBu, our Hyundai Staria van. With its black finish and YOLO branding, it is easy to recognise in our photographs. We use BuBu to help serve our customers and coordinate the road-going part of their visit alongside the sailing holiday.
If you would like help with a transfer, tell us where you are coming from, your flight or arrival time, the number of passengers and how much luggage you are bringing. Those details matter more than simply saying that a group needs a lift. For families, mention any child-seat requirements when enquiring as well.
Transfer availability, pickup details and any price are confirmed separately with our team. A transfer is not automatically included with every charter, and a photograph of the van is not a reservation. Once your arrangements are confirmed, keep the meeting instructions handy so everyone in the group knows the plan.
Flying into Aktion and arriving in Preveza
For a Preveza departure, Aktion Airport (PVK) is the airport to look for. Its proximity is one of the practical attractions of starting here: you can continue to town by road without adding an island ferry to the arrival day.
